Privacy Policy for ConferenceDB

1. What we collect
ConferenceDB has no accounts. When you browse the site, our analytics (DataFast, Hotjar and WhyUsersLeave) record pages viewed, clicks, referrer and device type through cookies and scripts, and Vercel BotID checks that a visit comes from a browser. If you email us, we keep your message and address to reply.
If you ask for an exhibitor-list alert, we keep your email address and the show, and use them only to send that list. If you order a sponsor list, Stripe processes the payment and gives us your name, email address and the event you named, which we use to send the list and support the order.
Until September 2026 we sold paid plans. For those orders we collected your name, email address and payment details; payments were processed by Stripe, and we keep the order records to support those purchases.

2. How we use it
To run and improve the site, keep automated scrapers out, answer messages, send the lists you ask for and support purchases.

3. Who processes it
Vercel (hosting and bot checks), DataFast, Hotjar and WhyUsersLeave (analytics), Stripe (payments) and Resend (order emails). We do not sell personal data.

4. Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

5. ChatGPT Plugin
The ConferenceDB plugin for ChatGPT (https://conferencedatabase.com/api/mcp) lets ChatGPT look up conferences, their sponsors and exhibitors, and the conferences a company sponsors. When ChatGPT uses it, we receive only what ChatGPT sends for that lookup: search terms, a conference name, or a company name or website. We do not receive your name, email address or account details, and the plugin returns company-level information only, never people, email addresses or phone numbers. We keep a log of which tool was called and when, without the search terms, to count how often it is used. Those logs are kept by our hosting provider, Vercel, only for the period its service retains request logs, and then deleted. You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you at the address below. We do not sell or share this information.

6. Policy updates
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top changes when we do.
